Imported Water

Another method Singapore use is by importing water from Malaysia, Johor. 40% of Singapore's water consisted of imported water. There were 2 agreements with Malaysia, one which was signed in 1961 and the agreement iwill expire in 2011 while another which was signed in 1962, and will expire in 2061. Johor will buy back the treated water from Singapore which would be turned into potable water.
